THE BSM

Jonas started his music education at the age of 11 in Sweden, where he sang in the Gothenburg Cathedral Boys’ Choir for more than 15 years. Studies in musicology at the Gothenburg Conservatory followed, alongside voice training. Jonas then spent two years studying at the Opera Studio affiliated with the Gothenburg Opera, focusing on Lieder and operatic repertoire, getting coaching from Sweden’s premier opera singers.



 

His focus has been the sacred repertoire, and solo parts include Bach’s St John’s Passion, Christmas Oratorio, Mass in b-minor and Magnificat, requiems by Faure, and Mozart, Elijah by Mendelssohn, Messiah by Handel, Beethovens 9th Symphony, Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas and various others. He also has an extensive Lieder repertoire, with focus on Schubert and Schumann as well as Scandinavian composers.



 

Jonas now lives in Bangalore where he also leads The Bangalore Men, an all-male vocal ensemble, which has performed all over India.
