Paulette Demello

Paulette Demello was exposed to the recorder at an early age as it was a compulsory subject in school in The Netherlands where she grew up.

Her genuine interest for the recorder started only after her son joined the Bangalore School of Music in 1987 for guitar tuition, as the recorder-guitar combination was very appealing.

By 1988, Paulette had joined the faculty of the BSM as a recorder teacher.
With sheer determination and with help from various visiting musicians, Paulette managed to learn the flute too, as this instrument is far more difficult than the recorder.

She has performed in quite a few concerts, as a soloist as well as alongside The BSM Chamber Orchestra.

Paulette Demello has built up a reputation as a fine and sensitive teacher who has nurtured and developed innumerable students in the art of recorder and flute  playing.

Her students have appeared successfully in Music Examinations and perform frequently in student recitals, wind and string ensembles.
